Before the Streetlights Came On is an ongoing photographic project exploring childhood as a space of memory rather than history.

The title refers to a familiar moment shared by many children: the time before the streetlights came on, when the world felt larger, slower, and full of possibility. Made from fragments, gestures, places, and atmospheres, the photographs do not attempt to reconstruct specific events. Instead, they explore how memory survives through feelings, traces, and imagination.

The project becomes a dialogue between the person I am today and the child I once was. It reflects on belonging, curiosity, friendship, freedom, and the invisible distance between past and present.
